Dear MBC Church Family,
Since the passing of Pastor John Garbreana in November of 2022, your Pastor Search Committee has been praying with you as we seek God’s will for the future of MBC. In that time, we have been led capably and faithfully by Pastor Charles Inman, who has served our church as a volunteer leader, and for the last year in the role of interim pastor.
We are announcing today that your leaders have prayerfully decided to move in a new direction. We are thanking Pastor Charles for his service as interim pastor, and bringing in a new interim pastor beginning January 7, 2024.
We want to honor Pastor Charles for his service, and in that spirit, we have offered Pastor Charles (and he has accepted) a severance package from our Church family.
We have been working with Pastor Mike Kahn and his staff at our Tampa Bay Baptist Association to ensure an orderly transition into a new season, and a new vision for MBC. We are calling that vision “Re-Plant,” as we are asking God for a healthy, thriving, and growing congregation for this part of South Tampa and beyond.
In the coming months our church will prayerfully be exploring a number of options that we have in moving the church forward. Each one of these options (opportunities) will be carefully researched and fully presented to the church as we walk together through this season.
We will be moving forward on this path beginning Sunday, January 7, 2024 in a series we are calling “Forward.” We pray you will come and worship Christ with a spirit of great hope and expectation for our future. We will be looking at the purpose of our church beginning with Christ’s Authority (Matthew 28:18-20), Christ’s Power (Acts 1:1-11), and finally our calling to rightly handle the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:14-19).
We know that change is challenging, and it stretches our faith, and yet, we know MBC’s greatest days for Kingdom advancement are still ahead.
